Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation encourages and enbales adults with disabilities to increase independence and improve life skills. The Foundation’s aim is to ensure that all adults in the United Kingdom with diasbilities can access the training and support required to achieve their goals.
The Foundation is based in Leatherhead and provides vocational training for mainstream employment, brain injury rehabilitation, mobility assessment and training, coaching for life in the community and recreational activities.
William Martin have undertaken a number of projects for the Foundation at their sites in Leatherhead and Banstead.
We were instructed by the Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation to design and build a new independent unit at their Brain Injury Centre in Banstead, Surrey. The land on which the new building was to be located was woodland and within the Metropolitan Green Belt.
We successfully liaised with the Planning Department and Tree Preservation Officer of the Local Authority, and a scheme was agreed and let to a local contractor. Constructed on a cost plus basis, the project was completed within budget and on time.
